A Harmontown man was arrested Tuesday by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department after allegedly hitting another man with a hammer several times.

Investigator Alan Wilburn said Siles Dunaway, 43, got into an altercation with another man when he grabbed a hammer and allegedly struck the man several times.

The alleged victim was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis where Wilburn said he is in stable condition.

Dunaway was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $5,000 bond.
