WATER VALLEY — Charles Richard Miles, 77, died Friday, May 6, 2016, at his home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Camp Ground Church with Bro. Jerry King officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Camp Ground Church in Yalobusha County. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Coffeeville, he worked as a machine operator for Borg-Warner in Water Valley where he retired after 32 years of service. He loved his church family and was an active and faithful member of Camp Ground Church where he served as usher. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing yards and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters Patricia Ann Miles and Jane Elizabeth Miles; sisters Ora Bell Dawkins, Martha McDonald and MaeBell Hall; and brothers Clinton Miles, Lewis Miles and Robert Miles.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Young Miles of Water Valley; sons Robert Lee Barnes of Water Valley, Jerry Lee Miles of Ripley and Perry Joe Miles of Southaven; sister Ruby Kehoe of Water Valley; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
