OXFORD — Sarah “Sue” Louise Kelly Doolin, 88, died Friday, May 27, 2016, at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley.

She was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Slocomb, Alabama, to the late Jesse James and Ina Clark Kelly. Sue was an active and faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Water Valley until her health deteriorated. She loved her church family and enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Sue was a Cub Scout den mother for years and enjoyed working with children. In 1981, she received her RN degree from Itawamba Community College at the age of 54 and worked at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley until she retired. Sue enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and working in her flower gardens and yard. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Immediately following the visitation, a memorial service will be held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with the Rev. Daniel Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Linda Doolin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and her son, Robert Doolin of Water Valley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wade Doolin; her sister, Margaret Kelly Jowell; and her brother, Jesse James “Jimmy” Kelly Jr.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Cemetery Fund at Bethel Baptist Church in Water Valley.
