Frances Simpson Estock

OXFORD — Frances Simpson Estock, 84, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at her home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Burnett and the Rev. Ron Jenkins officiating. A graveside service will be in New El Bethel Cemetery with a reception to follow in the Life Center at New El Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she formerly worked as a Lafayette County Election Commissioner and in the circuit clerk’s office. She was a member of New El Bethel Baptist Church where she was active in Vacation Bible School and volunteered in the Pink Ladies at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, cooking, crocheting and knitting.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Victor Warren Estock; sister Nancy Krause and brother, Elbert Simpson.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George Estock Jr. of Oxford; daughter Debra Shoemaker of Oxford; sons Mike Estock of Oxford and Steven Estock of Allons, Tennessee; brother Tom Simpson of Knoxville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
