OXFORD — Donald D. Jones, 72, died Friday, June 10, 2016, in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at College Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Justin McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in McComb, he graduated from McComb High School in 1962 and attended the University of Mississippi and graduated cum laude in 1966 and in 1967. He earned a Masters of Accountancy. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a second and first lieutenant in the Finance Corp from 1967-70. He joined Arthur Andersen & Co in Houston, Texas, as an auditor in 1973 and eventually become CEO of Pilot Management Ltd. in 1995, where he served until 2008. He was an active member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman who also was a dedicated supporter of Ole Miss athletics.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Melissa Massengill Jones; daughter Kelly Kathleen Jones Autenrieth; son Donald Drummond Jones Jr.; brother Robert Major Jones III; sisters Jane Jones Butlman and Lynn Jones Leggett; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Mississippi’s Patterson School of Accountancy, the College Hill Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.
