Peggy Blaylock Butler

OXFORD — Peggy Blaylock Butler, 70, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at noon in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Allen officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Duck Hill Cemetery in Duck Hill. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time in the West Hall of Waller Funeral Home.

Born in Montgomery County to the late Ruth Alldread and J.T. Blaylock, Butler graduated from Binford High School. She continued her education with a degree from Jackson Commercial College. She began her 34-year career working for the Pearl School District and the DeSoto County School District before retiring from Northwest Community College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Thomas and her niece, Jane Blaylock.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Lloyd Butler of Oxford; daughter Beth Rasberry and her husband, Rusty, of Oxford; sisters Sarah Williams of Cleveland and Callie Briscoe of Senatobia; sister-in-law, Carolyn Blaylock of Brandon; brothers Jerry Blaylock of Jackson and Tommy Blaylock of Raymond; grandsons Rustin and Baryn Rasberry of Oxford and several nieces and nephews.
