With two women openly pursuing their party’s vice presidential selection, this fall’s presidential election could come down to “the Donald and the ladies.” Having been directly involved with the Miss Universe for years, this will not be uncomfortable ground for the billionaire businessman.

Elizabeth Warren, a late backer of Hillary, is now turning up her visibility supporting the presumed Democratic nominee. It’s difficult to know how she would help the ticket. She would siphon off a lot of the Bernie burn vote, but it goes down quickly from there. Her small electoral vote state is one Clinton should easily win regardless, thereby not greatly helping achieve the magic number of 270 electoral votes. She dislikes Trump considerably, but all left-leaning Democrats seem to share this opinion.

On the GOP side, I have been saying for weeks that Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn needs to be taken seriously. The feisty conservative who represents middle and west Tennessee is an attractive blonde with a good record in the House. Her dislike for Hillary even rivals Warren’s dislike for Trump. She has already prepared talking points for the general election should she get the nod.

In a recent interview with Breitbart, Mrs. Blackburn laid the terrorist issue with Islam on Bill Clinton’s doorstep.

“During Bill Clinton’s presidency, Islamic terrorists perpetrated the following attacks against America:

1. 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

2. 1996 Khobar Towers.

3. 1998 Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.

4. 2000 bombing of the USS Cole. Each attack was followed with little to no response. The terrorists felt victorious. They felt invincible. And even worse, they did not fear us.

This, of course, culminated in the 9/11 attacks. Ironically, the day before 9/11, President Clinton told an audience that he could have killed 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden in 1998. The next day, 2,977 Americans were killed by bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorist group.”

The fall election will undoubtedly come down to a great deal of finger-pointing with both sides blaming the other for every shortcoming known to God and man. The role of the VP nominee is typically an attack dog, with the two D.C. leaders primed for combat. One would think Trump’s top choice would come from also a state high in electoral count unlike Tennessee. The Volunteer State will in all likelihood go Republican, as it typically does, with or without Mrs. Blackburn on the ticket. But she does mitigate nicely the anti-woman sentiment being waged against “the Donald” by Hillary’s legions coupled with the media.

The mystery on both counts will soon be over as the conventions near. Should the above two scenarios play out, we might be witnessing a “cat fight” unprecedented in American history.
