The city of Oxford Public Works Department began a sewer main replacement project on University Avenue today. The road will be closed between 9th and 11th Streets from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. this week until completed. South Lamar Boulevard to East Jackson and 9th Street to Van Buren will be used as detour routes. Motorists can expect loose rock in the roadway until the pavement has been replaced, and should use caution in the area.
