A Sardis man was arrested Wednesday by Oxford Police Department for felony shoplifting.

According to reports, Michael Ballentine, 46, was suspected of shoplifting from Walmart on Monday. The total amount stolen was more than $800. Since Ballentine has two other convictions on his record for shoplifting, he was charged with a felony crime.

He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $2,500 bond.
