OXFORD — George Lee Isaiah, 62, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the state veterans home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at noon at Philadelphia M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with family hour from 6-7 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, he was a mechanic and veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Isaiah of Oxford; daughter Nora Joyce Skelton of Abbeville; sons Gregory Lee Isaiah of Oxford and Dereck Campbell of Arlington, Texas; sisters Maxine Woods of Abbeville, and Alice McGee and Caroline Houston, both of Racine, Wisconsin; brothers Leroy Braziel and Johnny Austin, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota, James Houston and Charles Houston, both of Racine, Wisconsin, Jeff Houston of Arizona, Michael Austin of Abbeville and Steve Austin of Jackson; and 10 grandchildren.
