WATER VALLEY — Hilman S. Furr, Jr., 78, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at his home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jerry Furr; sister Tyna Furr and brother, Bill Furr.

A U.S. Army veteran, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shelby Johnson Furr of Water Valley; daughter Terry Creel of Jacksonville, Florida; son Perry Furr of Water Valley; brothers Charles Furr of Memphis, Tennessee and Donald Furr of Warriors Park, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
