OXFORD — Roy Lee Goss Sr., 71, formerly of Oxford, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Homes, which is in charge of arrangements.

A retired painter, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Archie-Goss.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Goss Jones of Memphis, Tennessee; son Roy Goss Jr., of Ridgeland; stepson Patrick Archie of Oxford; sisters Mary Headd of Chicago and Annie Lou Wraggs of Louisville, Mississippi; brother Robert Lee Goss Jr., of Chicago; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
