John Davenport has led a successful theater program at Oxford High School for 16 years, inspiring students and volunteers to help make it one of the best in the state.

Oxford High School’s theater program also touches the community, providing arts opportunity for residents who want to support our high school students but also enjoy good theater.

Many OHS plays over the years have received rave reviews and talent has gone on to shine in later years in other stages.

This is a critical time each year for Davenport and the Oxford High School Theatre Arts Guild. It’s when season passes are sold for the upcoming season, and successful participation from the community sets the stage for a successful theater season.

The Theatre Arts Guild provides Davenport’s program with funds it would not otherwise have through the school budget, so the annual season ticket sales drive makes a difference.

Planned for the 2016-2017 are productions including Twelve Angry Men and the musical Xanadu, among several more. By purchasing season tickets in advance, supporters show the type of support needed to keep Davenport’s program strong.

We applaud the OHS theater program and hope season sales are successful and pave the way for another outstanding year.
