Two very worthwhile causes will be taking place Saturday on the Square.

The Oxford Charges Booster Club will be conducting their annual Boosters & Blues event at The Library Bar & Grill in an effort to raise funds for the Oxford High School athletic teams.

Last year, the OHS boosters raised $50,000 through the event, with all of the proceeds benefiting the Oxford Middle School and Oxford High School athletic programs.

“In all, we donated more than $105,000 to the teams,” said OHS booster Geoffrey Yoste.

There will be live music from “The White Animals” beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 a person and may be purchased at University Sporting Goods on the Square or at the Oxford School District Administrative office.

Supporting officers

Meanwhile, Mr. Feathers and Roosters will be hosting a benefit for families of fallen officers and local law enforcement.

The fundraiser will take place from noon until midnight with donations being taken up at the door.

There will also be fun and games for the kids, according to organizers.

There will be live music from “The Litigants,” as well as food and drink specials all day.

Organizers have said proceeds will assist the families of fallen officers in Baton Rouge and Dallas, who were recently killed in the line of duty.
