Shannon Buford promoted at ICS

Dr. Shannon Buford was recently promoted at the Institute of Community Services, Inc. (ICS) as the Disabilities/Mental Health Director, she served as Comprehensive Services Manager upon her arrival at ICS beginning in February of 2015.

Buford is a graduate of Mississippi State University (B.S.), the University of Mississippi (M.Ed, Ed.S) and the University of Memphis (Ed.D).

Buford states that with this new position  she will be responsible  for organizing, monitoring and implementing activities in the child development services areas, including disabilities and mental health and early childhood education services as required by ACF performance Standards, Mississippi State Department of Health as directed by the ICS executive director Mrs. Eloise McClinton.

Buford is also the liaison for the Tallahatchie Early Learning Alliance initiative (TELA). ICS+TELA is a partnership that seeks to strengthen and empower teachers and families to empower children. As liaison, she will work closely with both programs to provide ongoing assistance and support to mobilize and disseminate information necessary to enhance the quality of services that are provided to all children and families in Tallahatchie County.
