Dr. Austin Poole obituary, funeral arrangements

Published 1:34 pm Wednesday, August 17, 2016

When you think of Austin Poole, the first thing you think about is a Delta boy through and through who loved the Lord, loved his family, and loved the outdoors. His family was his passion, especially his wife, Angie. When you saw one, you saw the other, and the first thing you saw were their smiles. He was an amazing husband and also an amazing dad. Nothing brought him greater joy than getting to watch his kids compete in sports or sitting beside them in a deer stand. He loved traveling with his family and taking them to Ole Miss sporting events — football, basketball, and his favorite was sitting in left field at Swayze with his baseball family. He took advantage of every opportunity to be in the woods, and no place was better than his home away from home, Merigold Hunting Club.

After years of dedicated study and hard work at Delta State University and the University of Mississippi dental school, Austin was an amazing dentist at his practice in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He not only helped people fix their smiles, he also brought smiles to every patient he served. He played an active role in Kappa Alpha Order, Donated Dental Services and Grace Bible Church. He lived life big, never missing an opportunity to serve those in his life generously, to pursue excellence academically and professionally, to enjoy each hobby to its full extent and to maximize every travel adventure.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at 1 p.m. at North Oxford Baptist Church with the Rev. J. D. Shaw officiating. The family will be receiving visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the church under the direction of Ray Funeral Home and Coleman Funeral Home.
