Statement from Poole family: Oxford plane crash victims

Published 6:00 am Friday, August 19, 2016

On behalf of the immediate and extended family of Dr. Austin and Angie Poole, we would like to thank everyone for your prayers, and the outpouring of love and support you have shown us during this difficult time. To the dear friends and community who have surrounded us with care, bringing meals, coming by the house and providing for us in so many ways, thank you.

We would also like to acknowledge our appreciation of Oxford High School and the University of Mississippi along with the represented clergy for the prayer vigils, which have helped our family and the community. Please continue to pray not only for the families affected but also for our friends and all who grieve.

We are in great pain, but the strong support we have been shown has helped us to begin coping with this tragedy. Oxford is a special place, and we are thankful that Austin and Angie called it home. Please continue to keep us in your prayers, especially as the children deal with the impact of losing their parents too soon. Austin and Angie were both very special people. We love them dearly and we thank you for loving them too. We will celebrate their lives with a service on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1 p.m. at North Oxford Baptist Church, as well as in a joint memorial service on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum.
