Schools in the Oxford School District were placed on lock down late Friday afternoon after Oxford High School received “an anonymous threat.” Both the high school and Oxford Middle School were placed on lock down just before school was to be dismissed, but school was dismissed at its regular time. The type of threat and where it originated are unknown at this time.

Oxford Police Department responded to all of the schools within the district as a precaution.

The investigation of the threat is ongoing.
