Hubert L. “Lane” Tutor Jr., 68, of Senatobia, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 20, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

A memorial service was held this morning at First Baptist Church in Senatobia Ray-Nowell Funeral Home-Senatobia Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Tutor was born on Nov. 20, 1947 in Oceanside, California to Dale King Tutor and Hubert Lane Tutor Sr. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Senatobia. He was a graduate of Crowder High School, Northwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Mississippi. He was an art instructor at Northwest Community College for 35 years, was an avid Ole Miss fan, lifetime alumni of Ole Miss and was an accomplished potter and painter.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Tutor and his parents, Hubert and Dale Tutor.

He is survived by two sons, Chad Tutor (Ruth) of Memphis and Jared Tutor of Taylor; one granddaughter, Charlie Kate Tutor; one sister, Lana Tutor Bridges (Murray);  two nieces,  Kim Simmerman and Allyson Wilkinson; one aunt, Sue Hiatt;  seven great-nieces and great- nephews, BJ, Jessica, Gib, Conley, Ally-Kay, David-Lane, Ahnna-Grace; and a host of family and friends.
