Senior Lifestyle Expo set for Oct. 4

Whether 50 is your new 40 or 80 is your new 60, Senior Lifestyle Expo 2016 has entertainment, information, food, fun and prizes for you.

The free event will be Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home, 601 Commerce Parkway, just off Highway 7 South in Oxford.

“This is aimed at being both fun and informing,” said Glenn Coleman, co-owner of the host business. “It’s a chance to catch up with friends, enjoy some good food and good music, and discover some new opportunities for a fulfilling retirement.”

Senior Lifestyle Expo 2016 will feature performances by choirs from Oxford and Lafayette High Schools, along with raffles, giveaways, hors d’oeuvres and a wine bar. Meanwhile, public agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations will show what they offer mature adults for enjoyment and education, fitness and health, retirement planning, community service and more.

Senior service agencies and religious entities are also expected to offer information on their programs at the Senior Lifestyle Expo.

Several speakers will aim to enlighten and entertain. Coleman will offer a welcome, and Mark Hartnett of Argent Financial Group will provide insights on multi-generational wealth planning.

Kaye Bryant, one of the community’s best-known and busiest retirees, will regale with stories of Oxford past and present as well as offering insights into a vigorous and vital retirement.

No registration is needed to attend Senior Lifestyle Expo 2016. Simply be there: Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Oxford.
