Ole Miss Homecoming parade today

Ole Miss homecoming festivities continue today with the annual Homecoming Parade and pep rally that will roll onto the Square around 5 p.m.

The Pride of the South band, cheerleaders and Rebelettes, as well as the Ole Miss Homecoming court will take part in the parade and pep rally.

Motorists should be mindful of heavy traffic, delays and pedestrians in and around the Square.

The No. 16 Rebels play host to Memphis Saturday evening at 6 p.m. in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Game day information

The Oxford-University Transit will have two free buses running every 15 minutes starting at 6 a.m. Saturday morning. The buses will pick up from the Jackson Avenue Center near the Old Oxford Mall and stop about two hours after the game.

Transit officials ask everyone to visit the OUT website, www.oxfordms.net/visitors/gameday-shuttle-service.html, to read the rules of what items are allowed or not allowed to be carried onto the buses.

Backpacks and trash bags will also not be allowed inside the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

The city of Oxford contracted with Cline Tours to provide another shuttle option to and from the game. Riders can park at Oxford High School or Northwest Mississippi Community College. Adults 13 and up pay $10. Children 7 to 13 are $5 and children 6 and younger are free. The shuttles will start at noon. Due to the late start time, shuttle riders should expect delays back to their vehicles.
