Ole Miss’ Evan Engram has been named to the midseason watch list for the John Mackey Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate tight end.

It’s the latest recognition for Engram, who was added earlier this season to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the nation’s top pass-catcher regardless of position.

Engram leads all tight ends nationally in catches (30) and receiving yards (479) while averaging a Southeastern-Conference best 95.8 yards per game. The senior is already Ole Miss’ all-time leader in receptions and yards for a tight end and is two touchdown catches shy of that career record as well.

The four-year starter is the active leader nationally among tight ends with 1,873 career receiving yards.

The candidates for the award will be trimmed to a group of semifinalists on Nov. 14 and a group of finalists on Nov. 22. The winner will be announced on Dec. 7.
