Oxford Health and Rehab Center has completed work on a new gym that will enhance the therapeutic and recreational options available to its residents. A grand opening event is scheduled for Nov. 1, from 4-6 p.m.

“We are very pleased to announce The Gym at Oxford Health and Rehab,” said Administrator Joseph Johnson. “This is a truly state-of-the-art facility for exercise and therapy.”

The Gym at Oxford Health and Rehab Center features equipment designed to promote health and wellbeing with seniors with safety firmly in mind.

Its new Alter G treadmill offers a low-impact exercise option that has been shown to shorten the recovery process. Likewise, the CR800 Recumbent Bike and SciFit PRO1 exerciser provide low-impact options for the lower and upper body respectively. The SciFit PRO1 is fully adjustable and wheelchair accessible.

The Gym also includes two therapy tables: a tilt table with high-density foam for safety and comfort enables a variety of multi-angle therapies, and a Hi-Lo stand-in table provides stability and safety for standing therapies.

“It’s been shown that active lifestyles lead to longer, more fulfilling lives,” Johnson said. “And that’s exactly what we want for our patients. We’re especially pleased by the support of our parent company, Advanced Healthcare Management. Their ongoing leadership, care and compassion have made our new gym a reality, and we couldn’t be more pleased for our residents.”
