Richard Clyde Johnson

Richard Clyde Johnson, 62, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be at First Baptist Church on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Robert Allen and Dr. Eric Hankins officiating.  Burial will follow at Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.

Richard was a Radiologic/MRI Technologist at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi where he was dedicated to his job and well respected by his peers. He enjoyed running and was an animal lover. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and a true man of God. At First Baptist Church he was a member of the Adult Couples Sunday School Class, an usher and formerly enjoyed teaching Awana. He was supportive and protective of his family and a loving and loyal son to his parents.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Bryant Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Micki Johnson of Oxford, two daughters, Michelle Johnson Doriot and her husband, Jim of Germantown, Tennessee, and Ashlee Johnson Nance and her husband, Jon of Oxford; his mother, Georgie Williams of Martin, Tennessee; his brother, Eddie Lee Johnson of Westmoreland, Tennessee. He was known as “Papa” to three precious grandchildren, Lily and Ella Doriot and Pate Nance.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
