This year’s Oxford Middle School annual play — The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon by Don Zolidis — will expose the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, who are turned on their heads in a fast-paced, rollicking ride as narrators and many actors attempt to combine all 209 stories in one bizarre, wild and silly play.

The production runs Nov. 10-11, with a 7:30 p.m. performance time both nights at Kayla Mize Auditorium. Kayla Mize Auditorium is located on the Oxford Middle School campus at 222 Bramlett Boulevard in Oxford.

“Our middle school students have been working on the annual play since September,” said OMS theatre teacher Debra Anderson. “Since the play is a mad-cap parody, we encourage the community to come out and support our budding thespians.”

The play makes fun of the fact that disturbing fairy tales, like Hansel & Gretel, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella, were never meant for children. General admission tickets are $5 and are available for purchase at the OMS Store on the school campus or at the door the night of the show. The show is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.
