Sometimes, the natural beauty and amazing qualities of this world we live in can amaze.

That was the case last evening when the so-called “Super Moon” rose over Oxford in the east just as the sun was setting in the west.

Some 30 percent brighter and 14 percent larger, this November full moon is the closest to the earth since 1948, and it will get this close again until the year 2034.

We were blessed Sunday evening in Oxford with clear skies, and when the full moon began to rise above the Oxford landscape people stopped in their tracks to watch.

We can get caught up in the frustrations that we humans create for ourselves in this world, like tension in political seasons and worries over who wins games.

But having a moon to shine so big and bright over our community is a good reminder that the universe is much bigger than we are.

It is magical, and it is inspiring, how each and every day can bring something different and breathtaking.

The moon will be mostly full again tonight, and skies should be clear, so you can see the splendor of the Super Moon again, and give thanks for the world we get to live in.
