Ole Miss senior forward Sebastian Saiz has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball, the league announced Monday.

Saiz averaged 19.7 points and 12.3 rebounds in the Rebels’ three wins last week, including 22 points and career-high 19 boards in Ole Miss’ comeback win over UMass on Thursday. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Saiz is the SEC’s active career leader in rebounds.

Saiz scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds Sunday in Ole Miss’ 81-68 win over St. Joseph’s in the semifinals of the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Rebels (4-0) will face No. 22 Creighton for the tournament championship tonight at 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be carried on the CBS Sports Network.
