Ruby Bennett McLarty

Ruby J. Bennett McLarty, 93, from Abbeville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Hermitage Gardens in Southaven. The funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hope officiating. Burial will follow in Abbeville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born in Dundee, MS to the late Minnie Lee Hickey and Aaron E. Bennett, Mrs. McLarty was a member of Abbeville United Methodist Church and attended Faith Baptist Church. She loved her church family and her very beloved Campground family at the Old Methodist Campground in Oxford. She found great joy in spending time with her family and close friends. Her family loved her dearly and she will forever be in their hearts.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Edwin McLarty; son, William Robert “Billy” McLarty; sisters, Josie, Hattie, Mary, Cummila, Toxie and Clara Mae and brothers, Pete, James, Joe, and Edward.

Survivors include her son, Ray McLarty and his wife, Judy of Hernando; brother, Clinton Bennett and his wife, Ruby of Oxford; grandsons, Shane McLarty and his wife, Nikki of Tupelo, Brian McLarty and his wife, Katie of Franklin, Tennessee; Dan Sell and his wife, Lisa of Horn Lake; great grandchildren, Bo and Abby McLarty, Auston Sell and April Smith; great great grandchildren, Huston Sell and Crystal Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Rose and Stacy Jackson and all of her friends and family who helped care for her and the staff of Hermitage Gardens for the special care that they gave.
