Oxford is proud of the accomplishments and service that Morris Stocks, one of its very own, has delivered as provost and executive vice chancellor for Ole Miss.
Stocks, in the role for nine years of outstanding service at a time of tremendous growth and accomplishment at the university, will return to faculty in the Patterson School of Accountancy on January 1.
Those who know Morris Stocks know of his strong character and unwavering devotion to Ole Miss. Those that don’t know him personally certainly know the results that he has helped lead at the university, with educational excellence rising during a period of tremendous student growth.
Since arriving in Oxford in 1991, Stocks and his family have made the community their hometown, active in schools and supportive of friends and neighbors. They are examples of the symbiotic connections that make both Ole Miss and Oxford strong at once.
So we are appreciative of Morris Stocks’ service as provost and proud of all that has been accomplished at the university during his tenure.
And, we look forward to his being able to return to full-time faculty, with more time for students and more time in and around the community he so loves and enjoys.
