Jo Lynn Milling Chapman

Jo Lynn Milling Chapman, 68, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at the University of Tennessee Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The family will hold a private funeral service and burial. A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Born to the late Bernice Ozborn and Joe Finas Milling, Mrs. Chapman was president of Arrowhead Capital. She graduated from Murrah High School and was active in the band where she played first chair trumpet. After high school she attended Belhaven College where she was a cheerleader and sang in the Concert Choir. Mrs. Chapman was a former resident of Jackson, MS and was a lifetime member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Jackson. She was actively involved in the Jackson Ladies’ Tennis Association and worked in the registrar’s office at Belhaven College. Throughout their school years, she was active in supporting her sons in their various activities. She found great enjoyment in spending time and being active in her grandchildren’s lives. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Centerfeit Rotan.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence W. Chapman of Oxford; sons, Clarence W. Chapman, Jr.  and his wife Genevieve of Memphis, Tennessee and John Pigford Chapman and his wife Amy of Oxford; sister, Martha Murray Raymond of Madison; brother, John G. Milling of Oxford, and six grandchildren, Clarence Warren Chapman, III, Milling Johnson Chapman and Genevieve Malone Chapman of Memphis, Tennessee and Rebecca Lynn Chapman, Amy Elizabeth Chapman and Kathryn Lea Chapman of Oxford.
