Kudos for going green Oxford

Oxford’s commitment to urban forestation and tree management has been underway for years now.
The city’s Tree Board has been appointed with citizens dedicated to the cause, and with the education and experience to make a difference.
Combine that fact with commitments made by Oxford’s Building and Grounds superintendent Billy Lamb, volunteers like 100 Men, other city employees, and the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, and we end up with an award-winning green city.
The conversion of the city’s old armory into a magnificent green space is one example of how Oxford effectively moves forward when the city’s needs change. Lamar Park is another good example. Both of these spaces are shining examples of teamwork and commitment to keep Oxford a tree-friendly and green city.
As Oxford continues rapid growth, our Tree Board and commitment to urban forestation and landscaping is more important than ever before.
With more development, the need for more quality green space emerges. Planning effectively for the Oxford of tomorrow makes all the difference.
We appreciate the service of Tree Board members, Billy Lamb, and city leaders and employees who are working to keep Oxford as a wonderful place to visit and live.
