Christine H. Watson, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Deryberry officiating.

Burial will follow in Yellow Leaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. until service time.

Born in Bruce, to the late George and Irene Davis Weeks, Mrs. Watson was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Roy Watson; brothers, Elmer Weeks and Jimmy Weeks; sisters, Charlene Hollinger and Rea Harris and one granddaughter, Joanne Putman.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughters, Ruthie Savage and her husband, Herbie of Oxford, and Martha Putman and her husband Jerry of Bartlett, Tennessee; sons, George Watson and his wife, Nancy of Pope, and Tommy Watson and his wife, Brenda of Oxford; daughter-in-law, Myrtle Watson of Oxford; sister, Nell Harris of Taylor; brother, Delmer Weeks of Water Valley; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
