The Oxford Police Department arrested a Batesville woman for allegedly trying to steal almost $1,700 in merchandise from the Oxford Walmart.

Opal Winters, 31, was charged with felony shoplifting Friday and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on a $2,500 bond.
