Annual JA Charity Ball set for Jan. 21

The Junior Auxiliary of Oxford will hold their fifth annual Charity Ball to benefit JA programs that assist children in the LOU community.

The ball will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at The Powerhouse and will feature a live and silent auction, food and drinks and live music from Smiley and The Young Guns.

Celebrating 28 years of serving children and families, this year’s semi-formal evening will again feature a Mardi Gras theme. While the adults will be enjoying a great time with food, music and dancing, the event is all about helping the children.

“Last year, our 63 volunteers provided over 2,100 hours of service in our area,” said JA President Cathy Lowe. “When you support Junior Auxiliary, you are helping to fill backpacks with school supplies and buy pajamas for a child who doesn’t have them. You help children learn the joy of reading, that they have a mentor who cares for them, and that sports and sleepover camps should be available to everyone.

“As we continue in our third decade of service, we invite you to partner on this, our only fundraiser, to help us in our endeavors. With your support, together we can continue to change children’s lives for the better.”

Tickets for the Charity Ball are available from any Junior Auxiliary of Oxford member or visit www.jaofoxford.com or from local sponsors: Ross Family Dental, Belles & Beaus, or Olive Juice Gifts.
