Mr. Charles Barnett Lampkin, III, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Great Oak in Byhalia. The funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Anthony Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12 noon.

Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Charles Barnett and Julia McCain Lampkin, he retired after a long career teaching science at numerous Junior High and High Schools.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Traylor “Patty” Lampkin of Oxford; a son, Dr. Jonathan Traylor Lampkin and his wife, Cynthia of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Dr. Julia Asom, Dr. Beatrice C. Lampkin and Carolyn Davies; a brother, William Lampkin and two grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan Lampkin, Jr.
