The Oxford Police Department arrested a man Friday during a traffic stop after officers learned he had a warrant out for his arrest for domestic violence with aggravated assault.

A woman reported on Dec. 29, Colby Estes, 23, strangled her and that weapons were involved; however no life threatening injuries were reported.

On Friday, officers pulled Estes over for a traffic violation and discovered the warrant.

He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $10,000 bond.
