Mrs. Evelyn Juanita Steadman Murphy, 85 of Oxford, formerly of Drew, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, in Franklin, Tennessee.  Born in Drew, on Feb. 14, 1931, she retired from secretarial work. A loving mother and grandmother, she loved taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Elton Steadman and Lois Moore Steadman, and son, Brad Murphy.

Survivors include her son, Blake (Kellye) Murphy of Franklin, Tennessee; daughters, Dawn Murphy of Dallas, Texas and Laura (Chris) Sawyer of Ft. Myers,  Florida;  grandchildren, Sarah Trantham, Ryne, Drew, and Maris Murphy; and great-grandchildren, Lauren and Parker Trantham. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 800 Van Buren Avenue, Oxford, MS. 38655

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
