NATCHEZ — Funeral Services for Barbara Lee “BA” McCary, 89, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, in Natchez, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.

Mrs. McCary was born on Oct. 12, 1927, in Booneville, the daughter of Roy Lee Fugitt and Grace McDonald Fugitt.  She was a faithful member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church. She attended Booneville High School — Class of 1945, and also attended Judson Female College in Marion, Alabama, with a major in Sociology and a minor in Music.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 67 years, Arthur Dale McCary.

Survivors include one son, Timothy McCary and wife Penny of Natchez; one granddaughter, Abagail McCary Washington and husband Phillip of Natchez; one sister, Sara Davis of Booneville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially her nurse, Amanda Herrera Mabry, and Compassionate Care Hospice Clergy, Pete and Jan Mills.

Pallbearers will be Bob Barrett, David Gaude, Mark Godfrey, Butch Johnson, Mitch Scroggins, and Jerry Smith.
