Benjamin Huron Carraway, 65, a retired MS Forestry Crew Chief and former employee at Corner Grocery, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, from 1-2 p.m. at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Meredith-Nowell Chapel in Clarksdale, with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.

Ben was a member of the Oxford University United Methodist Church.

Survivors include wife of 22 years, Helen Small Carraway of Oxford; brothers John Carraway (Debbie) of Pope, and Scott Carraway (Dawn) of Clarksdale; sisters Belinda Graham of Brandon, and Patricia Mooneyham of Greenville; four nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Carraway, Jr. and Mary Josephine Hyde Carraway and brother Marvin Carraway.
