Jessie Benjamin Harris, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Toole officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.

Born in Chickasaw County to the late Jessie U. and Liza Jane Channy Harris, Mr. Harris was retired from the city of Oxford where he worked for the Street Department. He was a member of Taylor Baptist Church and business owner of Pop Harris Junk Yard for about 20 years.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dian Murphy.

Survivors include his wife Lanell Harris of Taylor; daughter, Sandra Lowe and her husband, Matt of Vardaman; sons, Kenneth Harris of Taylor, Larry W. Harris and his wife, Patsy of Water Valley, Danny Harris of Pontotoc, and Jesse Harris and his wife, Gail of Taylor; brother, W.D. Harris of Vardaman; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
