A section of East Jackson Avenue will be closed Sunday to allow for the installation of a water main.

According to the Oxford Public Works Department, East Jackson Avenue from 6th Street to Depot Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

West-bound traffic will be detoured up South 6th Street, to Van Buren Avenue and down to Depot Street and back to East Jackson. East-bound traffic will be detoured from Depot Street to Van Buren Avenue then down 9th Street.

The road will be closed to allow for the installation of a water main for the Uncommon Oxford development currently under construction on East Jackson Avenue.
