James “Jim” Herman Nail, 72, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. The funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry East officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, from 3-7 p.m. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Born to the late Ruben James and Helen Lavern Livingston Nail, Mr. Nail was the President of Nail Forestry Service, Inc. Jim was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church and attended Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mississippi Forest Association, Lafayette County Forrest Association, Cattleman’s Association and Soil and Water Conservation District Association. He was a dedicated family man and an adoring grandfather and great grandfather.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Carnahan Nail.

Mr. Nail is survived by two sons, James D. Nail and his wife, Teresa B., of Oxford, and Steven Tedford of Oxford; three daughters, Stephanie T. Leonard of Oxford, Elizabeth A. Danford and her husband, Mike, of Oxford, and Denise Woods and her husband, Gilbert, of Oxford; two brothers, Gerald David Nail of Winona, and Kyle Thomas Nail of Oxford; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a special friend, Jenny Hudson of Oxford.
