LAMAR — Marion Slate Howery, 88, died Friday, March 17, 2017, at her residence in Lamar. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Foundation of Life Christian Learning Center in Lamar with burial to follow in Foundation of Life Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 2-6 p.m. at J. F. Brittenum & Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Prince Howery and three children, Shirley Raimey, David Howery and Sharon Denise Howery.

She is survived by daughters Mary Daugherty of Collierville, Tennessee, Barbara Howery of Lamar and Jackie Howery of Houston, Texas; sons Lenton Howery of Joplin, Missouri and Mark Howery of Holly Springs; sisters Ouima Murray of Vicksburg, Annie Mathis Norphlet of Oxford and Faye Slate Turner of Forrissant, Missouri; brother Rosco Slate of Oxford; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
