Harold Wayne King

Mr. Harold Wayne King passed away on March 24, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, at the age of 91. He was born Feb. 20, 1926 in Paris, Mississippi, to the parents of Effie Mae Williams King and Abb King.

He served during WWII in the U.S. Marines after serving his country he came home to be a husband, parent, farmer, cattle rancher and a worker at Big Yank garment factory in Water Valley. He was also an active member of Yalobusha Primitive Baptist Church and the American Legion and V.F.W.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Erma Jean Lindsey King; four brothers, John, Gaylon, William and Joe Abb King, and a sister, Montine Sitzlar.

Survivors are a daughter; Gloria (Paul) Wilbourn of Grenada; two sons; Stephen (Wilma) King of Water Valley, and Gary (Wini) King of Oxford; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday, March 26, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. and a funeral service will be on Monday, March 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating in the service will be Elder Ed Easley and Elder James Hall.

Pallbearers are Brett King, Craig King, Justin King, Matthew King, David Moulder and Stoney Wilbourn. Honorary pallbearers, Stanford Gandy, Charlie Huckaby, William Huckaby and Riley Melton.
