The Oxford Police Department served an arrest warrant on Oxford Commons developer David Blackburn Monday, on a charge of felony malicious mischief.

Another developer, Blake Tartt signed charges against Blackburn last week for allegedly removing a large sign in front of Oxford Commons that did not belong to him. Blackburn said the city’s building official, Randy Barber, sent him an email telling him to remove the sign because it was sitting on the state right-of-way.

A third developer, Lance Forsdick, said he was the original owner of the sign and Blackburn was allowed to advertise Oxford Commons for several years until he sold the rights to the sign to Tartt in November.

Blackburn turned himself into the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked and released on a $1,500 bond.
