First National Bank Oxford is currently making plans to enlarge its Medical Center location at 2149 South Lamar Blvd., and to relocate its North Lamar Branch.

“With new residential and commercial development south of Highway 6, our Medical Center Branch has simply become too small to adequately serve our customers,” said FNB CEO John Barrett.

By Fall 2017, FNB plans to expand the lobby area, improve traffic flow, and increase parking on the site.

In addition, FNB is making plans to relocate its North Lamar Branch to a new facility at the Oxford Commons due to the recent sale of the property.

“For the time-being, through leasing back the building, we will remain at 821 North Lamar Blvd., but we are hopeful that construction on a new bank branch can begin later in 2017,” Barrett said.

A new multi-story facility at The Commons will be equipped with an iTM (video teller), an open lobby environment for improved customer interaction, as well as additional space for future expansion.

“Our North Lamar location has served us well for years, and, of course, we will remain there until the new branch at The Commons is operational,” Barrett said. “As a community bank, we must be willing and able to serve customer needs, and serve with care and concern. Sometimes that is a listening ear and in-person service from an experienced and knowledgeable FNB Oxford staff member; and, at other times it’s being able to deposit a check remotely or transfer funds through our mobile banking app.

“Oxford has been very good to us over the years, and we want to insure that we provide convenient delivery channels to our current and future customers,” added Barrett.

Although FNB Oxford is over 100 years old, it has demonstrated an ability to adapt to the ever- changing world of banking technology, while still offering convenient physical branch locations. FNB currently offers personal and commercial account services and lending, cash management services, mobile/ online banking technology, and was the first bank to offer video teller machines (iTMs) in either of its markets (Oxford and Tupelo).

Its Oxford branch network currently consists of the Main Office on the Square and three branches throughout Oxford. FNB serves the Tupelo market through its full-service location in the downtown Fairpark district.
