The work in our schools never stops, so as one year winds down the work preparing for another begins.

Such as is the case with Oxford Schools this week, as parents of incoming kindergarten students have arrived at registration time.

If mid-April seems early for registration it’s not, considering decisions must be made for the 2017-2018 year according to class size and more – decisions that directly impact all students during this important foundational year of school.

Too often parents registering children for school only get part of the process done, and then they arrive in August for a first day with frustrations.

It’s important to remember that two steps are required:

• Completing the online student registration application at www.oxfordsd.org/registration.

• Provide the district with required registration documents that are up-to-date. A complete list of required registration documents can be found atwww.oxfordsd.org/registration.

Our kindergarten classes in area schools are among the best in the state, so a new generation of students starting is always an exciting time.

Our schools are also bigger than ever before, so the more parents can fully complete the early registration process the better the process goes to starting a new school year.
