Funeral services for Margaret Ann Boisen Nash, 88, of Greenville will be at 3:30 pm, Wednesday, May 3 at First Presbyterian Church, Greenville.  She died Sunday, April 30 at home. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Margie, as she was known to everyone, was born March 4, 1929, in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Central High School in Memphis and obtained her undergraduate degree from Southwestern (Rhodes) College in Memphis. She had completed all the requirements for a master’s in music from University of North Carolina except her oral exams, but opted to say yes to a marriage proposal instead. For the 64 years she was married and lived in Greenville, she was a loving wife and mother, accomplished pianist, avid bridge player, devoted community volunteer, and active member of the Greenville Junior Auxiliary, Garden Club, Presbyterian Women, and Friends of Mississippi Public Broadcasting. For over 40 years, she taught a Sunday school class at First Presbyterian Church. For a number of years she served on the Board of Trustees of the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and when she rotated off the board she was named an honorary life member. In 1985 she received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Rhodes College and in 2007 she was a recipient of the Lifetime Contribution to the Arts Award in Greenville.

She is survived by her husband, Jere B. Nash, Jr., of Greenville; her three sons, Jere Nash III (Holly Wagner) of Jackson, Louis Nash (Rose) of Oxford, and Joe Nash of Greenville; and her three grandchildren: Oliver Nash of Jackson, and Sarah and Bo Nash of Oxford. Margie’s mother, Sarah Graves Boisen, died in 1983.

Dr. William Robert Sharman will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Nate Adams, Jim Bell, Parker England, Billy Percy, Charlie Tindall, and Sam Young.

Gifts in honor of Margie Nash may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, MS or Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
