Myrna Elaine Wesson Cook, 78, died May 7, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Ann Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake, Texas. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born in Houston, Texas, to the late Johnnie Burton and Hazel Jeanette Wesson, Mrs. Cook was retired from the University of Mississippi Law School where she worked as a secretary in the Dean’s office. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was active in the University Dames. She was fond of gardening and cooking and enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises.

She is survived by her husband, David E. Cook of Oxford; a daughter, Elaine Mangum and her husband, Todd of Madison; a son, Thomas Wesson “Wes” Cook and his wife, Kelli of El Campo, Texas and four grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Mangum of Madison, and Jared and Dylan Cook of El Campo, Texas.
