The Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded Lafayette County Literacy Council a $6,500 grant to support adult literacy.  This local grant award is part of more than $7.5 million in grants awarded to nearly 900 schools, nonprofits and organizations across the 44 states that Dollar General serves.

“We are honored to receive the Dollar General Grant for the fourth year in a row,” said Sarah McLellan, Lafayette County Literacy Council Executive Director. “This year we will focus on supporting the achievements of our learners in literacy and GED attainments in the ABLE (Adult Basic Literacy Education) program. Two learners have passed their GED in our program and we have many more working hard to achieve this goal. The funds from the Dollar General grant will open many doors for our program.”
